Fate By Houndstooth

Houndstooth Kitchen and Eatery is the newest concept by husband and wife team David and Monica Bressler.
David and Monica met one evening in February 2012. Monica had just come home from a long day at the salon when she heard music at her neighbor’s home. Remembering it was her neighbor’s birthday she thought I'll cut some flowers and bring them next door. Upon entering the house in her pink houndstooth sweater and cute pencil skirt, Monica and David first caught eyes. " Where did you come from?" "I love your Houndstooth," said David. "Next-door I'm Monica," she answered, thinking to herself what does this guy care about houndstooth. David then handed her his new business card for Houndstooth Sauce Company, which he had just received from the printer that day. Monica looked at the crimson houndstooth card and quickly determined David was an Alabama guy. She then said, "are you going to make a white bbq sauce?" David's eyes lit up. Monica said, " My family is from Alabama, my dad went there and my mom is from North Alabama where Big Bob Gibson's BBQ is, home of the Alabama white bbq sauce. David, then looked at her in disbelief and said, "where did you come from again?” It was at that point David and Monica realized that fate by Houndstooth had occurred.
In October 2012 David and Monica opened Houndstooth Sauce Company at the East End Market in Audubon Park, Florida. The couple then got married in November 2015. After a successful 5-year stint in the Orlando food hall, Houndstooth Sauce Company had outgrown its 212 square foot space and it was time to look at growth.
In March of 2018, Houndstooth set its sites on the new Maitland City Centre a mile from the couples Maitland home. At the same time, David and Monica realized that their handcrafted sandwiches, homemade soups, and fresh salads utilizing their sauces were more the core of the business than just the sauces. Together the co-owners decided to rebrand the company Houndstooth Kitchen and Eatery. Monica and David are thrilled to open Houndstooth's new location in Maitland, Fl. and look forward to serving the community and their neighbors.
